Donostia/San Sebastián

The Northern Way of St. James passes through Donostia/San Sebastián amidst landscapes of great beauty, making it one of the most attractive sections of the route along the coast. Starting in the city, the route heads from Pasaia through the Gros neighbourhood and up Mount Igeldo towards Orio, offering spectacular views of the Cantabrian Sea, cliffs and footpaths bordered by vegetation. A path that combines nature, heritage and the tranquillity of the coastal landscape.

Along the way, signposts, rest areas and viewpoints guide pilgrims and walkers.

Those walking this section of the Way of St. James will find the route to be accessible, welcoming and full of contrasts, where the coast of Gipuzkoa becomes your travelling companion.
