Donostia/San Sebastián

Donostia/San Sebastián

Today, Donostia/San Sebastián still has a rich heritage of palaces, gardens and promenades that reflect its aristocratic past during the Belle Époque. The Miramar Palace, for example, which stands between La Concha and Ondarreta and was built in the 19th century as a royal summer residence, and the Aiete Palace, renowned for its elegant gardens, offer visitors their architecture, history and green areas, inviting them on walks with wonderful views of the city and the sea.

The city's essence can also be explored via the promenades that run along the seafront and link up with the hill slopes that surround it, where nature and the urban landscape meet.

By exploring these areas, the visitor will discover a city that has lovingly preserved its heritage, where nature, architecture and everyday life intermingle in an urban landscape that is steeped in history.
