Local produce at the Mercado de Abastos

Abastos is Vitoria-Gasteiz’s market par excellence for getting to know local flavours first-hand. Inside, there are shops specialising in fresh and gourmet produce, where you can buy seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat products, artisan bread, cheeses, cured meats and other specialities.

It also has an attractive gastrobar area, ideal for taking a break and enjoying a pintxo alongside a glass of Rioja Alavesa or Arabako Txakolina wine. The outdoor square hosts a local farmers’ market on Thursday and Saturday mornings, with stalls selling vegetables, cheese, sweets and other seasonal produce.
