The Battle of Vitoria at the Armoury Museum
Vitoria-Gasteiz
Step inside the Armoury Museum, housed in the former premises of the Ajuria Enea Palace, and explore the history of weapons from prehistoric times to the early 20th century. The palace’s portico has been transformed into a unique exhibition space, whilst the caretakers’ lodge houses the museum’s administrative and technical facilities.
Discover weapons used in the Battle of Vitoria (1813), medieval artefacts unearthed during excavations in the city, as well as Arab, African and Oriental weapons. Browse through weapons and implements designed for attack and defence, for hunting or mastering martial skills, as well as others intended exclusively for exhibits, many of which reveal state-of-the-art technology of the period.
